I bought a model 518 welder/plasma in Dec 2008 .
I got to use it a bit , then the transistors failed .
The T' legs take a lot of stress , cause they are the
only path for the stress . Heavy heatsink is hooked to
T' tab , then legs are soldereed to PCB .
------------------ Unlike my other stuff
like my 40 amp Plasma only machine , has
T' well protected inside PCB , and when you separate the
heat sink from PCB . the attachement is Heat sink screwed to
PCB , T' takes no stress at all .
I lost my $650 , Simon K wont warranty the machine .
.......
2 props ,, 70inch , pushers , 400 HP total .
2 sets of wings fold forward .
three Yamaha R1 motorcycle engines .
They're so quiet and smooth , you can be in
the same cabin and not be annoyed .
The 2nd set of wings is high/forward ,
like an old bi-plane stagger .
The 2nd set can move CenterOfLift forward for added
cargo .
Stabilizers ( actually they are destabilizers ) are up front
close to pilot .
No ailerons , wingtip senses wind as a bird does .
Last 2 foot of wing tips are fully articulated ,
as a bird wing is .
Pilot has handles/levers on each side . If hyd boost
is not working , the levers work like 2 VW jacks
back to back. On heavier control surfaces , you may need
several pumps . Then pull a trigger to return surface to
its trim position .
Im shopping for the alum sheet .
californiametals.com has best price for 2024-T3 .063"
