Preliminary Accident Notification System
http://www.aviationresearch.com/html/pan.html
To keep abreast of the most recent domestic aviation accident and incident
information, ARG/US has developed the PAN system. Several times each day we
download data from the FAA's preliminary accident files, process the raw
files into a structured database, and reformat the data into an email
message. You can subscribe to receive these notifications automatically,
and you can specify preferred categories and filters. For example, you can
choose to only receive notifications of all multi-engine airplanes, or just
single and mulit-engine jets, or just helicopters.
We also look for any changes or updates in previous data released from the
FAA. Often, more information is added or changed several days following the
original posting. PAN will send a new email to you when these changes
appear.
Scheduled for Q2 2000 ARG/US will offer more in-depth research. We will
include a web link in each email which will take you to our research site
where our analysts compile as much information as possible on the aircraft
involved. We will search multiple databases for previous accidents,
incidents, SDR's, owner and operator history, enforcement actions and
registration data to provide you a complete safety history for that specific
aircraft.
For aircraft owners, operators, flight departments, charter operators,
fractional companies, flight schools, manufacturers, insurance companies,
and aviation safety professionals everywhere.
