GE-600 Remote Control

Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the GE-600
Programmable remote control.

o Can command and control up to four different infra-red remote
control audio/video products.

o Works regardless of manufacturer brand.

o Convenient hand-held remote

o The secret - a built-in programmable microcomputer

o Easy to use????

I have remote TV, VCR, and CD Player. Also my cable company offers a
remote control. Could I borrow someone elses and program mine in
order to get the extra features (programming cable box, direct channel
selection, etc.). If so this would save renting a remote control from
the rip-off cable Co. The cost is $99.95 which would be worth it if I
could have one remote for all of those things (and save the Cable
rental). What does the net think?

Please no flames on whether this is stealing from the cable co. or
not. If you must, E-mail them and spare the rest of the net.
