Coralline growth and sugar

A long time ago, I remember somebody saying they added sugar to there
waterto help promote coralline growth. And lot of you said that is a bad
thing!! Well any ways to get to the point I came up with this cockeyed
sorta theory, and possibly I will tell all of you if some facts support it.
Can as many of you as possible please e-mail me Whether you add or don't add
suger to your tank the number of gallons and corals you have the amount of
lighting and any additives you may add. And also please include the amount
of coralline growth you have and the amount of time the tank has been set
up.
If any of you would take the time to do so I would greatly appreciate it.
