Change smtp for the default mail client program

hello,
I've seen there is still not feature to ajust the smtp outbound server
for the default mail client:
Outlook/Outlook Express/Windows Mail/Windows live Mail
What do you think of this?
For example for Outlook express, it is setup into this reg key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Account Manager\Accounts
\0000000x\SMTP Server
