For Advocates
<http://www.nrpa.org/Content.aspx?id=126>

Supporting parks and recreation can mean many things: volunteerism,
financial contributions, in-kind gifts, just to name a few. But what does
it take to be an advocate?

We believe an advocate for our movement has a need to express a passion
for parks and recreation through actions that go beyond support. It means
speaking in support of increased funding; contacting media outlets to
generate public awareness; asking fellow citizens what they want or need
to improve their health or their community; and encouraging others to get
involved.

If you're an advocate - or if you'd like to be an advocate - for parks and
recreation, NRPA can help. Through education, research, and advocacy
efforts, we can prepare you to do great things to advance the movement.
And by participating in NRPA, you're among friends who have been there and
done that. So you're never alone in the constant battle to defend
America's

For Government
<http://www.nrpa.org/Content.aspx?id=496>

Government leaders have to make tough choices every day in order to
provide for the needs of everyday Americans. Whether you're an elected or
appointed leader or a public employee, whether you're with local, state,
or federal government, NRPA needs your support. We offer vital information
and resources that supports the advancement of parks and recreation. We
advocate on the national issues that affect our cause. Most important, we
provide community for all who believe in the value of parks and
recreation.
