ELECTRONICS: AUDIO AND STEREO EQUIPMENT: Question About User Friendly Home Audio Equipment

First a few thoughts that come to mind.
My first effort here would be to either try to borrow equipment from the
school or see if other parents at that school or your own friends have
equipment you can use or borrow. It seems like a major purchase for just
one recording to make just one brief recording. My second effort would be
to see if an appliance store or electronics equipment store would
facilitate your rental rather than purchase of such equipment. You also
may want to check with the systems or technology people at your school, if
you have a home computer to determine if your computer can download
software that would work with a microphone to make this recording with your
computer. I would go out and purchase a recording device as a last
resort. Some cell phones may also facilitate recording, if you have one,
you may want to see if this is possible with yours.
