[Microphone to be Used to Record for School Play]

My friend's daugher is going to be in a
Christmas play where she is going to
recite a poem. My friend asked me to
record it. Her daughter's voice is very
faint and she may not have a mic.
Does anyone know of the best user friendly
audio equipment that could magnify and
record very soft voices from a distance?
