Glad you see this software useful, you are definitely one of the first users, thank you very much for your feedback.

Footnotes are currently not implemented but they are planned to be added before 2.0 release (1.0 release is currently in process jeje). Footnotes are supported by another software called Textallion (http://code.google.com/p/textallion/) which also uses the txt2tags library as a backend, so it should be relatively easy to import that feature to Nested.

However, this feature should be implemented by Nested itself, as Textallion did (see http://anamnese.online.fr/site2/textallion/docs/documentation_en.html#toc18), because it is not directly supported by txt2tags (see http://txt2tags.org/writing-book.html#toc9). We have discussed on how could be the best way to implement footnotes, but I have not reached a conclusion, if you have a suggestion it is very welcome.

For now, footnotes can be emulated with custom postproc filters, for example:

Txt2tags library v3.0 will have footnotes support (http://code.google.com/p/txt2tags/wiki/v3), but the 3.0 version is planned since 2008, and no date for that release yet, so in the wait we will have to implement it directly.

Nested is just in the process of the first release, the priority now is to have Windows Vista and XP compatibility and finish the website (as you could see, a lot of documentation is missing). Thanks again for your interest.
