So far I've only seen Roboform's ability to fill out fields in web browsers and Windows GUI apps. I'm an app developer and sometimes I need to use Telnet/SSH. My SSH client of choice is PuTTY, but I can't find any way to integrate Roboform with PuTTY. Is this possible? If not, is there another [free] SSH client that will work with Roboform?
I have used safepay and find it very handy BUT with all the different site logins etc, where you might use Safepay, I find it frustrating to try and remember logins etc, why I use RoboForm. In fact sometimes you get the strong urge to go back to the sites own supposed secure site, so that you can use RoboForm to save time, thus missing out the safety of Safepay. Has there been any thought of incorporating programs like RoboForm with safepay, thus keeping the handiness of RoboForm with logins and the security of safepay??
I will ask the product manager about this - maybe in a some form of "user defined extensions" that the user can pick up for use with Safepay, but I will tell you from the start that this will break the very foundation Safepay was built - create a secure, isolated session for the user to work with. While I completely understand the fact that productivity extensions are invaluable for a day-to-day browser, when it comes to security we are trying to cut off from the rest of the world. Also, Safepay is not intended for day to day browser usage - that is why it is asking for an URL to be opened, or opens it automatically *only* is marked as clean *and* a bank and not for everything else.
That's why we started to implement password management (websites, email, online banking, cards, applications, personal informations) and wallet functionality 3 weeks ago. We will offer our own solution (for Safepay) and an alternative (for other programs) without relying on external programs.
Roboform is the ONLY password manager I've found that makes coping with 2 stage logins where selected characters (e.g. 3, 5, 7, variable) are required from a password by a variety of means (site dependent) possible, and that's amost universal in the UK.
Joao - just to emphasise the point.. if you introduce a tool, it must handle both autofill cases (whole string) and the case where selected characters are required (manual fill). And remember- using Roboform I don't have to type the URL: so two clicks gets me to the bank first page, fills the fields, and automatically on to the second log-in page, where I can select a Roboform note to display the string displayed with 1 2 3 4 5... underneath it fr which I select (say) characters 5,7,11.
Interaction with other programs gets a larger approach in the Safepay standalone (which will see beta around May 31st). Basically, there is no need anymore to incorporate/communicate with other password manager tools because there will be the possibility to switch back and forth between the regular default desktop and the Safepay desktop. This way the user can launch Safepay, switch to default desktop to grab a password, switch back to Safepay and just use it. Think as a kind of Alt-Tab between desktops.
Thats a lot of steps. With Robofom there is an Internet Explorer-like list the immediately comes up when you click the icon in Systray or browser extension. Your top 10 most visited and ALL your folders are immediately visible (no scrolling). Whats it boils down to is you can get into a site with Roboform with as few as two clicks to open the menu and single click your way to site/autofill/go in.
I am using Roboform version 7.9.2.5 and KeePass version 2.24
You can transfer the following items from Roboform to Keypass:
Logins (AKA "Passcards"), Identities and SafeNotes
The procedure is as follows:
1. Log into to Roboform
2. Click on the "Roboform" icon above the left hand menu of items
3. Select "Print List" and select the "Logins" item
4. If an item is access protected by password, it will prompt you for the password.
Either enter the password (usually the Master Password) or "Skip"
5. Each item will be saved to a file called a "List" and displayed within Roboform
(full screen)
6. At the top of the displayed List is a "Save" button
7. Click on the "Save Button"
8. Choose a name and location for the file (it will be saved as a "htm" file)
(I chose a new folder off my root drive called "C:\RoboformData")
9. On the right of the first list produced is a "dropdown" for each of the items
Logins,Identities,SafeNotes
(Strangely, when producing the first Print List, a list is actually produced for
all three seperately!)
10. Select the other two items in turn (Identities and SafeNotes) and save as per
steps 7 and 8 (I saved them as just "Logins.htm","Identites.htm" and
"SafeNotes.htm"
11. Close RoboForm
12. Open KeePass
13. Enter the Master Password (if required)
14. Click on "File/Import"
15. Navigate to the folder where you saved the html files
16. Import each file in turn
17. Delete the folder where you stored the html files (for security reasons)
18. Empty your recycle bin (again for security reasons)
19. Re-Organise your imported items in KeePass into your desired folders within
KeePass (most will import into the "root" folder" although some specific to
certain Browsers will go into assigned folders in KeePass
20. Sit back and relax using KeePass as your new Password Manager! :-)
In researching this on other sites I have found that it is not possible to export Roboform's passcards with version 7. Siber Systems took out this option when 7 came out. They also stripped the option out of version 6.10. The only way to export now it to downgrade to version 6.9.3 That version is still on their site to download.
I am also having problems importing logins from roboform . my roboform version is 7.9.1.1 and keepass version 2.23. I am able to generate htm file from roboform but it is not being imported into keepass using steps listed here
_roboform
Roboform generates a print list which I am able to save as html file. Additionally roboform gives an option of saving in font sizes 6 to 18 and column 1 to 6. will changing the font or column help ? keepass just fails to import the html file while it can be viewed in the browser clearly.
I can not import from RF. I've created the html file from with in RF. When I try to import it in to KP via Import->Roboform HTML I get the progress bar and then after a few seconds I get an error message, "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." See the attached png file. Any ideas?????
On my Windows 10 laptop with Chrome browser, in the top tool bar where all the extension icons are, there is a small blue square overlapping the Roboform extension icon. There are from one to three small white dots scrolling across the bottom of the blue box like it is trying to load something, and it is only on the Roboform extension icon.
While I was experiencing problems with 1Password X (for about a week), I continued to use RoboForm, my former password manager. I updated around 10-15 logins and created 5-10 additional logins in RoboForm. Is there an easy way to delete all my logins and start from scratch, importing again from RoboForm? I have several hundred logins and don't want to edit each one in order to delete it.
