New Geography Codes and Names Implemented

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has implemented a new coding
and naming policy for statistical geographies. The change has been
implemented across the Government Statistical Service (GSS) to address
the issue that standards for coding and naming UK statistical
geographies were inconsistent across the GSS, with multiple schemes
previously existing using a wide variety of code formats, structures
and lengths. Within Neighbourhood Statistics (NeSS) we have also used
consistent coding and only allowed time series data to be produced
when there are no changes to the underlying area. Full details of the
