Dear NESCO friends,

It is very sad to know how Mr. Tek Raj Bhatta  has been looted in Oslo. It's good that NESO has taken an initiative in order to help Bhatta ji at this difficult moment. I would also like to help him and I will transfer my help to NESCO's account. As per you call, I also sending a copy of this mail to NRNA Norway.  It seems that many Neplaese people are coming to Norway like Bhatta ji as job seekers. It is very likely that they know very little about Norway and job opportunities in Norway. Yet,  many people want to go abroad since there are many problems back home. I wonder if the Nepalese communities in Norway should do something in order to make such people aware of opportunities and difficulties in Norway regarding job offers for skilled workers.

Best regards,

Suraj Thapa

Respected sir/madam,

With due humble and request I would like to inform you that I am Tek Raj Bhatta all the way from Latmandu-05, Doti, Nepal bearing the passport number 4689356. I had applied for the job seeking visa for Norway and I was granted the visa as well. I arrived here in Oslo on the date 21 April 2012. However, all my dreams turned into nightmare as soon as I arrived here.

I had carried the amount of 1670 Euro with me as a part of living expenses during my stay in Norway. I had exchanged all those amount into Kroner in a bank near Jernbarntorget. Since I was new here someone saw me exchange the money. I kept that amount into my bag which was accompanied by the valuable documents like academic transcripts, character certificates, and letter from UDI etc. which was the real assets to seek the job. A part from these valuables there was laptop, camera as well. He intentionally sprayed some kind of lubricant into my blazer and showed me as if he was assisting me to clean that dirt. He asked me put off my baggage and clean it properly by providing me some kind of napkins. As soon as I kept the bag on the floor he fled away taking my bag along with all those contents. I filed the case in the near police station.

Truly speaking I was really shattered to know that all these things prevailed in country like Norway with all the statistics of human rights in its favor for a long period of time. None the less I made a conclusion that bad people do exist everywhere in the world. Now I am currently staying in mine pals apartment but the same question haunts me over and over again i.e. for how long I am going to be here. I came to know that Oslo is one of the expensive city and currently I am penniless since all those exchanged amount was inside the stolen bag. I am really shattered now.

I am looking forward for the helping hands now. I would be really grateful to the person and organization if I could be provided with some kind of financial help. Some kind of help will be highly solicited.

Thanking you,

Sincerely yours,

Tek Raj Bhatta
