Welcome to the NESAWG Community list serv. Here are some rules of the road:

Who this list includes: food system folks from across our region including Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Washington D.C. That means farmers (urban and rural), distributors, policy analysts, advocates, foodchain workers, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, public health educators, etc. Basically anyone interested in working with others to build a food system that works for all of us is welcome.

What to post: jobs, events, news, action alerts, queries, funding opportunities, or anything else that relates to the food system.

What not to post: hate speech, derogatory speech, any kind of chain email or spam, and any kind of marketing or other commercial material.

How to post: for best results let folks know WHERE, WHO, WHAT, and WHEN if possible in the subject line. So, if I'm posting about a conference I might say PA - Farmers - NESAWG Mini-Conference -Date. That kind of description helps folks know when an email is relevant to them. This helps make sure your email is seen by the people you want to see it and doesn't get lost in the flow.

A word about jobs postings: You MUST INCLUDE the compensation (even if just a salary range) for all postings and any internships must meet U.S. Department of Labor requirements. Also, jobs MAY NOT require salary history as part of the application, as this practice is against the law in many states in our 12-state region. NESAWG is committed to racial justice and equity in the food system, and that means promoting salary transparency. **Failure to comply with this requirement on more than two occasions may result in removal from this list.**

This list is very lightly moderated to assure folks comply with the rules of the road. For the most part it's up to all of us to make it a community that is productive, enjoyable, and inclusive.
