Allegations over RR tie disposal settled
BOSTON — State environmental authorities and a railroad
have settled allegations that thousands of rail ties
were improperly disposed of in Central and Western
Massachusetts between 2004 and 2007.
Boston & Maine Corp. and its parent company
Pan Am Railways Inc. were fined $57,747, with $10,000

Environmental Protection said today in a news release.
