The day in trains started off this morning with photos of the Vermont
Railway WJNP train leaving White River with the VTR GP40-2 307 and CLP
GP40-2 306. Will post that shot later.
Then on the heels of that northbound departure, the NECR 600, White
River Junction local, rolled by with the NECR GP38 3851 and the TP&W
GP40-2W 4053.

Following that photo, I headed back into town where I found the ex CN
9457, still referred to as RMPX, but apparently changed in to the
NECR… Confused?

And then the stars, moon and sun all aligned…. Well overshooting the
9457, the NECR local 600 began backing into the yard passing the 9457.
Simultaneous with that backup move, I heard Amtrak blowing the horn
for the crossing at the north end of the yard! I watched as the 600
continued backing and looked to see where the motive power was. As the
backing locomotives from 600 passed me, I heard the familiar GE
"whump whump" coming alongside of the backing train. Ready for the
shot, a three way meet with two of the trains moving in opposite
directions was made!

A continuation will have to wait until later, with still to come: the
NECR 600 Crossing Sugar River trestle, as well as the CCRR at
Claremont Junction, the Pan Am WJE D on the NECR rolling into North
Walpole, NH, and finally the VTR NRRD running with light engines at
Manchester, VT!
Not a bad photo day along the NECR Roxbury Sub south end and Palmer
Sub north end!!
Remainder of report later this weekend… Off to Québec City!!
