Just curious - what is the significance of the interest list? Seems that payment of the event fee is how a spot is ultimately reserved?

I think there might have been some confusion with that web page
heading and I've just changed it. (Before we had this mailing list
created, people were asking us about an interested rider list.)

This mailing list and discussion group is the place to hear about
updates for riders who are considering the event or otherwise want to
stay in the loop. There is no separate list for riders who are
interested in joining before registration is open. When registration
opens, it will be announced here first.
