I've built openwrt for wag354g. It was just matter of selecting "AR7"
in "make menuconfig" and type "make".
I have also tested it. Well, openwrt boots, but dsl does not seem to
sync. I've not searched for infos on the openwrt forum.
If you are curious, you can test it. I have uploaded a copy of it in
the file section of this group. Dont be scared, it's not dangerous :)
I've also attached a log of the boot. Lately I have build a console
cable and plugged it in the wag354g, it' really handy and useful!

cheers

How about wireless driver in OpenWRT AR7 build? Is it working?

Thank you for your time.

I downloaded the file, tried to upgrade through web interface but I
got "flash is failed message". It doesn't start the flashing.
(I tried other nepture354 .bin, they are flashed normally).

How can I flash this firmware? Maybe using tftp recovery method (like
unbricking)?

You can look here for the status of AR7 Port:

http://wiki.openwrt.org/AR7Port?highlight=%28CategoryAR7Device%29

It does not states that wireless works....
I think also taking a look at openwrt forum could be useful.

Anyway openwrt is great! There is jffs2 read-write file system, and
the image without packages installed is really small, just 1.4 MB.

yes I have used the tftp method via bootloader.
For me it's easy because I have built a serial console cable, and I
can stop the boot process so that the bootloader wait for a new image.
Building a cable for me was very easy, I have just recycled a usb-
serial cable that i used for my nokia 3310. In this way the serial
console works also on my mac :)
On the router you need to solder 4 pins for the connection. It's not
hard, you just have to take care of what you do, and take your time.

I you have one of those data-cable, take a look here:

I finally tested it using tftp bootloader (maybe I should translate
your unbricking guide in english).
It has really cool features but it needs a lot of work (in stability
and everything else that's on AR7 port status page).

Do you think it can be usable or we should stick with editing the
official one?

hey I've just find on openwrt site something useful. It tells how to
connect to adsl.

Gotta test it!

if it's possible to use openwrt with the latest adsl / wlan drivers,
it could be usable.

On the other side, the official fw is more sticked to a adsl router,
and surely for a normal user is a better choice. Just think openwrt
has to be configured via command line.

yes! I'm writing you from wag354g running openwrt!
All the infos to bring up adsl connections can be found here:
http://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=8342http://wiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs/Hardware/D-Link/DSL-502T?

it's really a pity I dont have 2 routers....

Actually I have find a good way to upgrade from the bootloader tftp:
type via telnet "reboot"
wait 2 seconds
enter put upgrade_code.bin
for me this worked at the first try...
