It seems that Moore is not the sole artist involved in the duet album. Previous posts show that Benét has been in the studio with Corinne Bailey Rae, who is releasing a new album called Black Rainbows on Sept. 15.

It's not every day you wake up to discover your name on JAY-Z's new album. But that's the kind of Friday Eric Benét is having, with 4:44, Jay's new album that dropped at midnight Friday on TIDAL, name-dropping the R&B singer within its first few minutes.

On the album's inflammatory opening track Kill Jay Z, Jay indirectly references the '90s cheating scandal that led to Benét's split from his then-wife Halle Berry: "You almost went Eric Benét, let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don't even know what else to say, (expletive) never go Eric Benét," he raps, turning the singer's name into an unexpected catchphrase.

After splitting from Berry in 2003, Benét married Manuela Testolini (Prince's second wife) in 2011, with the couple welcoming two daughters together in the ensuing years. Beyond his family life, the singer released his eponymous seventh studio album last October, and has a string of summer tour dates ahead.

No I.D. produced Jay-Z's 4:44 album, released Friday exclusively on TIDAL in partnership with Sprint. There are 10 songs in the collection, and the 47-year-old rapper name-drops everyone from Al Sharpton to Kanye West. In the opening track, "Kill Jay-Z," the 21-time Grammy Award winner compares his own extramarital indiscretions to the R&B musician's past transgressions.

Jay-Z, meanwhile, apologizes to Beyoncé for his failings in the album's title track. "'4:44' is a song that I wrote, and it's the crux of the album, just right in the middle of the album," the Brooklyn rapper told iHeartRadio's The Beat. "I woke up, literally, at 4:44 in the morning, 4:44 a.m., to write this song. So it became the title of the album and everything. It's the title track because it's such a powerful song, and I just believe one of the best songs I've ever written."

Eric Benét - R&B, soul and neo soul singer, songwriter, actor; born Eric Benét Jordan on October 15, 1966 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Benét attended The Lynde and Harry Bradley Technology and Trade School (also known as Bradley Tech), a high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin whose alumni also includes Bob "Mr. Baseball" Uecker.

In 1984, Eric teamed up with his sister, Lisa, to form a vocal duo band called Benet (ba-nay). This led to them recording basement demos and sending them out to record companies. In the late 80's, they hooked-up with Gerard Entertainment Group, a Milwaukee production firm and Eric began performing with a local band called Gerard, and Lisa with a band called Beat Crazy.

They performed with the bands for three years, and during their off days, they would be record in the Gerard facilities; eventually releasing a self-titled debut album on EMI Records around October 1992. The Benet album didn't do well and charted only one single. Lisa Jordan went back into private life. Eric went on to create his breakthrough album, True to Myself, that was released in 1996.

Jay-Z's new album 4:44 comes hot off the heels of wife Beyoncé giving birth to his twins, who have just gone home from the hospital. And the passionate full-length is making waves in unexpected places.

Eric Benét has been one of the most successful and enduring male vocalists of the past three decades. With both the looks and an incredible tenor voice, Benet has stayed relevant in a business where artists over 50 have difficulty continuing to connect. But his albums have been consistently strong, playing to his modern adult soul audience while delivering classic melodies and arrangements.

Musician Eric Benet, who spent six years as Mr. Halle Berry, has announced that he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Manuela Testolini. People magazine is reporting that Benet proposed to Testolini, who he has been dating for three years, in November with an antique diamond ring that the singer designed himself. \"During a romantic dinner I decided to finally let Manuela hear 'Never Want to Live Without You,' a song off my new album that I had written for her,\" Benet told People. \"I sang it to her, then got down on one knee and proposed.\" Testolini, who was married to musician Prince for five years until she filed a petition to end their marriage in 2006, is an entrepreneur and the founder of In A Perfect World, a charity that empowers children to become responsible leaders. Benet, 44, is a Grammy-nominated musical artist who found his greatest success when he dueted with singer Tamia on \"Spend My Life With You,\" which spent three weeks at the top of the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Benet's marriage to Oscar-winner Berry came to a very public end in 2003 after the singer reportedly cheated on her, and also has an 18-year-old daughter, India, from a previous marriage. His latest album \"Lost in Time\" peaked at No. 33 on the U.S. Billboard charts when it was released in November 2010. The couple, who plan to wed in the summer, are currently celebrating their engagement in Egypt, according to People.

Benét's father loved classical music and inspired an interest in music in his son. By his teens, Eric had formed a vocal group with his sister and cousin called "Benét." The group released a self-titled album in 1992 that sold 70,000 copies.

In 1994, Benét signed with Warner Bros. Records, releasing his solo debut album, True to Myself, in fall (1996). His next album, A Day in the Life, was released in 1999; its first single, "Georgy Porgy (featuring Faith Evans)" received significant airplay, but the second single, "Spend My Life With You (featuring Tamia)", became a smash hit. "Spend My Life With You" rose to number one on the American R&B charts, was certified gold, and nominated for a 2000 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group. The album, A Day In The Life also won a Soul Train Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album, Male. Benét also recorded for Earth, Wind, and Fire's 30th anniversary CD.

One of the biggest struggles with being black in America is CONSTANTLY being under the microscope. We have to overperform, we have to outdo, we have to tuck away all flaws and insecurities, we MUST be perfect in every facet or our shortcomings will be used against us. Any imperfections in our community will be twisted to give fuel to white supremacists.

What I mean by that is even with all of the Trap clones out there who are the top HipHop artists? J Cole who broke streaming records with an anti-materialistic album, Kendrick Lamar who has been critically acclaimed since he walked in the door and earned a Pultizer prize and Childish Gambino who had a number one record talking about the issues that are happening right now in the world and Jay/Bey dropped a dope album talking about their lives as a married couple going through it.
