That isn't likely the problem/solution for what I was experiencing. I can't easily go back and test at the moment, but when I was deep in the solution hunting mode, I was working with two different Windows 10 VMs:

More on this. VMWare VM (Windows Server 2019 Data Center, nested HyperV, Hybrid Cloud, On Premise usage) has just locked up again. The mouse is visible, but no click action inside the VM. Not doing any heavy processing at the time. Debug session in Visual Studio 2019 Pro. Works well outside, in macOS Catalina. I tried Crtl-Alt-Del. Nothing. Then I tried Restart. After about 3 minutes, it responded with the Restart screen, which I cancelled. I got control back again. Before it locked-up, the screen flicked a couple of times, which indicates something not right with the GPU. However, it's a new GPU. Apple replaced it a year or so ago (another story. They bent one of the socket pins when configuring for delivery a few years ago - took years to figure out what was wrong - it's maxed out w 12 cores and 64GB memory). It's been working well sense. Hardware test shows no issues. Temperatures show no overheating (TG Pro). And VMWare has had problems with Apple's new GUI interface API in the past. I think this is where the issue might be. Certainly nor something I am doing. The MacBookPro, running a similar environment , has locked up too, but not as often, and not recently.

I think Fusion 12 is properly screwed by Big Sur, however the good news is Parallels 16.1 has it working (together with nested virtualisation, also does not work for Fusion 12). At least it means technically it is doable, and up to VMWare how quick it can be fixed. Hopefully very soon

VMWare just released their latest Tech Preview for VMWare Fusion with Full 3D Hardware Acceleration. On my M1 Max 32GB i have only tested Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition but i passed the multiplayer benchmark on full resolution Ultra! ? So happy it finally just works without any fuss, dedicated 16GB ram and 4 cores and 8GB of shared video memory. -fusion-2023-tech-preview.html

I am running Win 10 pro on vmware fusion 10 hosted by mac pro mid 2010 on High Sierra. I'm noticing a similar problem where the keyboard works fine within the virtual machine but the mouse disappears when working inside the console session from within the vm client. I cannot select or click anything. This only happens with vmware tools installed. If I uninstall vmware tools then everything works normally. I thought granting vmware fusion accessibility rights under system preferences > security & privacy > privacy would resolve the issue but nothing doing. Might be more than an accessibility issue. At this point, I'm thinking of using parallels as I've heard it is better than vmware fusion. Thoughts?

I've tested it on both single view and full-screen, no changes. One thing I also tested is when I access the mac OS host directly and launch the win 10 virtual machine, it works with no issues but if I RDP into the host and launch the vm then the mouse still disappears. I've reinstalled the vmware tools without the mouse drivers and the problem is still persistent.

I'm running Mac OS Catalina with an Arch virtual machine installed under VMware Fusion 11.5.5. Arch is working fine full screen on my main monitor. When I chose "Use All Displays in Full Screen" both of my monitors go black but I can still see the mouse and move the mouse between the monitors. It looks like Arch is not detecting my second monitor as when I do "xrandr" from the terminal I get:

Kindly, Microsoft have made virtual machines of their operating systems and browsers available for free on modern.IE. Aside from hosting virtual machines, there are many more useful tools and tips for working with Internet Explorer so consider having a look around the site.

If your using vmware fusion, do not upgrade to sonoma, as there is a extremely serious bug.
The vertual machines do not work at all with voiceover enabled.
If you try and start up a vertual machine and voiceover is enabled, as soon as you press start up, the vm will start up for a second, and then it'll crash and take you back to the, start up, button.
However if you try starting up the vertual machine and voiceover is off, the machine will run without any problems whatsoever. However if you then enable voiceover once again when you got the vvertual machine to run, it'll crash once again, and bring you back to the start up, button.
I already reported this bug to apple accessibility, however I need help from yoll here, to report it as well, as this is a extremely serious bug.
Also, using a 2018 macbook pro, intel i7, 32gigs of ram, however that's not of much importance I think.
Edit, here's a screen recording of the bug.

Also, here's the feedback id, for reference,
FB13303957
If anyone else reports this, reference that feedback ID.
Also for reference, I've tried absolutely everything; completely uninstalling vmware fusion, complete reinstall of macos sonoma, upgrating to the latest version, formating of the drive and reinstalling sonoma completely and reinstalling vmware fusion... Nothing works. And when testing with a sighted person, I was told, that when voiceover was off and he tried starting the vm, no problems; but when he did the same with voiceover on... It didn't start at all. It just made as if it wanted to start, and completely crashed.

I cant figure out out how. Do you have a contact email or something so I can report the bug to vmware as well as apple accessibility? I tried using technical support, but cannot do so as apparently I do not have any qualifying products, I'm using vmware fusion player with personal license, so I guess that's why I cannot file a technical support request, so is there any other way of contacting vmware?

Even if the hgfs folder was present, it would be empty. The host has made the files available to the vm, but the vm still needs to be told about their presence. The same thing happens occasionally when you plug in a thumb drive. To do this, from the Kali command line you use the mount command. After you're done working with the shared folder I would use umount, so that I wouldn't have a persistent connection across my operating systems. Keep us updated on your fix.

I have a working VMware Workstation Player (VMWP) with Windows 10 Home as the host and Kali Linux 2020.2 as guest OS. The required VMware Tools for Linux have been installed (I use a premade VM image which had them already embedded).

I recently installed ESXi 5.5u2 on my Mac Mini Server (Mac Mini 6,2 ) via your custom ISO. I am using vSphere Client downloaded from my ESXi server on a Windows 7 Professional VM running in Fusion 7 Professional. I am not able to create any VM's with hardware version 10 from the vSphere Client, thus I have no option to create OSX VM's past OSX 10.7. Are creating ESXi VM's with hardware version 10 only possible with vSphere Web Client? Also, I tried uploading an OSX 10.8 VM from Fusion 7 Professional to my ESXi host and it times out. So the Fusion 7 Professional upload VM to ESXi host is not working as it should.

Hi, I am able run mac os 12 in vmware player in windows 10 and network issue also resolved after following those above steps..but Sound Audio and mic is not working and siri app not enabled. how to fix Audio and Mic issue.. any help much appreciated..

Creating an isolated, controlled network environment when analyzing malware is extremely important due to the level of interaction it gives you with malware. VMware Fusion gives you the capabilities to change key networking settings and add a virtual private network configuration to use for analysis between hosts. We will only add two virtual machines to this lab environment, but you can add many virtual machines to this network. The procedures to create this network is as follows:

If you plan to test OS Updates, make sure you download an OS version earlier than the latest version from Microsoft so that your VM has something to update to. At the time of this writing I would recommend starting on Windows 10, version 21H1 (updated October 2021), a build stable enough to not run into any major bugs but also one old enough that there are plenty of updates to apply if you plan to test OS Feature updates.

A Note about Windows Product Key Activation: A common problem we run into with MDM is that people forget to Activate the Windows 10/11 OS. While VMware Horizon virtual desktops work fine (for POC) without a valid and activated OS license key, many MDM commands do not. You will need to license and activate Windows for MDM to properly function. To do so use a working KMS server, Retail keys, or MAK keys.
