March 2012 Update from Nepean School Council
Nepean High School School Council
Please note the following upcoming events at Nepean High School:
School Council meeting - Tuesday March 20, 7:00 pm, school library. All are welcome. In addition to updates from staff and administration, Liz Burgess, co-chair of the Broadview P.S. School Council, will offer a brief presentation on their Council’s current efforts to develop a strategy regarding repairs to/replacement of the Broadview building.
Music Concert – Wednesday, March 21, 7:30 pm, All Saints/First United Church, 347 Richmond Road. The choirs of Nepean and Bell High Schools will present their annual “Voices United” benefit concert in support of the Westboro Food Bank, the Kiangazi Foundation and the Tei wa Syana Community Initiative.
EQAO Literacy Test – Thursday, March 29. The OSSLT (Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test) is written by all eligible grade 10 students and any student who has yet to complete the test. Please encourage your son/daughter to check the list in the main hall for their name. The OSSLT is a mandatory graduation requirement and must be written on the specified date. We encourage families to visit EQAO’s website at www.eqao.com for an opportunity to review past versions of the test, access preparation materials for 2012, and see upcoming test dates for 2013 and 2014. Extra help sessions are available each Monday and Wednesday at Lunch in the Library Seminar Room.
Parent-Teacher Interviews – Thursday, March 29. Information regarding interviews and a sign up sheet will be distributed by the school soon.
