Just wanted to thank the Nepean community for their commitment and generosity in making this year's Knight at Nepean the biggest and best ever. Both our attendance and our funds raised topped all previous records.

Talk About Assessment: What parents need to understand

Assessment is always in the news. Whether it’s a story about the lowest disappointing test scores or the furor over policy changes that prevent teachers from using zeros. As a parent, what do I need to know about current assessment policies and practices? Why are these changing? Hasn’t assessment always served to simply measure whether students have learned what they were taught?

In this session, Damian Cooper will discuss recent changes in provincial policy, as well as the impact on teachers’ classroom practice. He will also address the question,  “What is the mission of Kindergarten to Grade 12 education in the digital age?”
