Hi All, please take note of the following information:

Tuesday February 12 - 7 - 9 pm
School Council Meeting and Course Option Information Session. Following a quick update on activities and issues at the Nepean (the School Council portion of this event), there will be an important session to help parents guide their children in making course selections for the 2013 - 2014 school year.

Also, here is a message from Principal McCarthy, requesting parent volunteers for an upcoming school event:
Hi Parents and Friends of NHS,

As I shared at our last School Council meeting... Our Winter Ball was postponed in December as we were not able to provide appropriate supervision. Our Graduating Class Reps, Mahin and Jennifer, have asked the Admin Team if we would feel comfortable holding the winter ball on Thursday, February 21st with combined supervision from the NHS Admin Team, Parent Chaperons and Ottawa Police Services (as is required by OCDSB Policy at all HS Dances). We feel the kids have been amazing at NHS throughout a difficult situation and support their initiative to move forward with the dance! Our kids have acted with total respect and class at all times and we believe they have earned the chance to hold the Winter Ball through their positive response!

In order for this to occur though we will, again, have to rely on the generous support of our parent community. We will need a minimum of 15-20 parents to support us if this event is to move forward. If you are able to assist with chaperoning the Winter Ball on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. please let us know by completing our online poll at the following link:

Thank you for your consideration and ongoing support of our students at Nepean High School! We are greatly appreciative of the support we have received from our parent community!

Love Purple, Live Gold!

All the best, Patrick
