School Council Meeting tonight cancelled; please note other upcoming events

[Nepean High School School Council]

Good morning, please note that the NHS School Council meeting scheduled for tonight (January 17) has been cancelled due to the winter storm. All evening activities taking place at OCDSB schools are expected to be cancelled as well. The next Council meeting will be February 21 from 7- 8:30 pm in the school library. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Please note these upcoming events at Nepean HS:

- This Thursday, January 19, the school's Key Club will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser, from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, in the cafeteria. Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $7.50 for students and $10 for adults. Proceeds will be directed to support a local elementary school, Connaught Public School, on Gladstone Avenue near Parkdale.

- Immediately following the spaghetti dinner, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm on Thursday, January 19, Nepean will host an Information Session for Grade 8 students who plan to attend Nepean starting in the fall. Prospective students and their parents are invited to the auditorium for an overview of all that Nepean has to offer - from academics to athletics to artistic programs - after which there will be tours of the school. 

- Parents wishing information on the OCDSB's school transfer policy should visit the Board's website at www.ocdsb.ca. The transfer application window is February 13 - 24, 2012.

- The Semester 1 Exam / Credit Rescue & Recovery period will run from January 25 - January 31. Complete details are on the Nepean website www.nepeanhighschool.com.

- Semester 2 will begin on Wednesday, February 1.

- Report cards will be issued Friday, February 10.
