As we have made a (draft plan) of the research, we need 8 Research Assistants for collecting data from the assigned districts. As I disused with Dr Laya, he says that we need experienced persons for this task.

 

Our thrust is to mobilize NEPAN Members as far as it is possible. If not possible, we need to take non-members as well.

 

Therefore, I would like to request you to find / nominate / recommend appropriate candidates and send CVs of appropriate candidates to NEPAN Office.

 

When Dr Laya will start the works from 1 May, we will shortly organize an interview and select these people.

As you showed interest to be included in Social Pension Research under partnership between HAI and NEPAN, we have decided to entrust all of you for different key responsibilities in this research project. Your involvement in this research project will start from the first week of May. Please, mark in your calendar whole month of May 2010.

 

Please, contact Mr Fatik Thapa in NEPAN and get clarity on your specific roles and timeline.

 

The Team Leader of this research is Dr Laya Upreti (Associate Professor, Faculty of Anthropology, TU – cc of this mail). Please, be in touch with you directly. All of you together with Dr Laya are supposed to finalise the design part during the first week of May 2010. If you have some questions for clarifications, please, write me.

I would like to recommend mr Deepak Dhungel for the field work.

He has worked with New Era as a Research Assistant and Research Supervisor in may research project. Earlier in one occasions in Ageing study he worked with Nepan as well. He is good at both qualitative data collection using participatory tools and quantitative data collection using redesigned questionnaire.
