Checking this box will automatically generate a 6-digit numerical passcode for your meeting. You can change this passcode if you like, but we recommend keeping it numerical so that phone-based participants will have an easier time entering it when prompted.

After your meeting is created, you will notice a change to your meeting link. There will now be an extra passcode section appended to the end. This allows your invited participants to still just click the link to join, the same as they always have. The passcode will be entered automatically for them.

If someone tries to join the meeting by typing the meeting ID into their Zoom client, or by entering the ID directly into the Zoom web page, they will be prompted for the meeting passcode and not allowed to join without it.

As a meeting attendee who receives a Meeting ID and Password from the host, but not the Join URL, I want to convert the Meeting ID and Password to a clickable link so I am not trying to jump back and forth between the app where the Meeting ID and Password were provided (email, calendar, website, etc.) to get the info copied and pasted into the join portal.

Allowing an attendee to add third-party meetings to their schedule in the zoom app, including entering the Meeting ID and Password ahead of time so that they can go to their scheduled meetings page and open the meeting with one-click.

Meeting creators have the option of sending a join URL in the initial meeting invite or if they send the invites out again programmatically. There is no other updated way to get the Zoom URL from a meeting ID and passcode at this time.

Description
I have my Meeting Id and password for a Zoom Meeting that is given to us by our teachers.
However the password for the meetings is not embedded in the URL provided. So it is a bit tiring to enter the password manually every time.

Currently creating an embedded meeting link using only the meeting Id and password is not supported. However, if you looking to format the Join URL to avoid manually entering the password, you can append the passcode to the URL. Here is what that would look like: meetingid?pwd=password

We recently held a webinar event in which I wanted to share the On Demand link afterwards so people could watch it. Tested it on my end and it all worked every time. Let me know if you had the same experience or not.

1. People that registered before event and used the Join Now link from their invite email were asked for a passcode. Through testing I found that the meeting passcode and the recording password were not the same. So I tried to make them the same, but the Share passcode had restrictions on it so that it could never be the same as the meeting passcode. So I had to send out the Share passcode to everyone. Some still couldn't get it to work until they logged into their Zoom account, some got it to work without logging into their Zoom account and some never got asked for a passcode at all. Used the original registration link from the webinar invite.

2. People that Registered after the event experienced some being asked for the passcode and some not. Logging into their Zoom account seemed to help the passcode work. The Share passcode did not work in all situations. Used the original Registration link from the webinar invite to register.

3. If I gave people the Share invite link directly from the recording, then it bypassed registration altogether and went to the recording. They still needed the passcode and it is unclear if logging into their Zoom account helped. However, when I use the direct Share webinar link, they are able to download the recording even though I have that ability turned off.

It would be great to have a video on how On Demand should work with for end users. The instructions are pretty good with configuring the settings, but I wasn't sure I was still sharing it correctly and what the end users were expected to do and see. This feature definite needs to be available to people that do not have a Zoom account or are not logged into their account. I had all authentication settings off.

We want registration, but this share link bypasses registration. Downloads are available even though I have it turned off in the Share settings, and the passcode doesn't work for everyone. By chance does the share link change every time I open it to get the Share link? Seems to change but not sure what to expect.

I know this is nearly a year old now but I'm having this same exact issue now... There is no email triggered (like for the webinar itself) with the passcode either. Did you ever resolve this? This is very odd.

Once the webinar is over the asset users are actually accessing the on-demand webinar on is actually managed in the "recordings" section and not the "webinar" section. Even though you disable the passcode on the "webinar" that actually doesn't mean anything, you need to disable the passcode on the "recording". The concept of the "webinar" is totally divorced from the concept of the "recording". Which is dumb.

To fix:
* Go to
* Find the recording associated with your webinar

On multiple occasions, I have shared Zoom recordings with clients with the password. Yet, the password doesn't work. When they've told me that, they are correct. The password doesn't work. I've tried logging into Zoom and changing the password to view the recording and that doesn't solve the issue.

Hey @lsalz, for this one I would suggest reaching out to our Zoom technical support team and they can further look into that Cloud recording shared passcode issue. If you have trouble opening a ticket, I can definitely help!

Similar here - Firefox 101.0.1 64-bit for Ubuntu. School Board meetings are shared with passcode. Entering correct passcode results in no change in screen. (Bogus passcode, e.g. "moo" results in message "Wrong passcode" or such; empty passcode field results in message "This field must be entered" or such, so I believe the passcode entered is correct when nothing happens.) Using Google Chrome browser (YUCK!) the recording popped right up and was playable.

Meetings can require passcodes for an added layer of security. Passcodes can be set at the individual meeting level or can be enabled at the user, group, or account level for all meetings. This will require participants to enter a passcode before they join a meeting. Account owners and admins can also lock passcode settings, to require passcodes for all meetings on their account, and they can configure minimum passcode requirements.

If you would like to enforce any of the meeting passcode settings for all users on your account or a group of users, you will need to lock the setting after enabling it. If a setting is enabled but not locked, users can still disable the setting in their personal settings.

Additionally, there is a setting for Zoom Rooms, Bypass the passcode when joining meetings from meeting list. This allows the room to join a meeting from the meeting list, without needing to manually enter the meeting passcode. The passcode needs to be included in the meeting invitation sent to the room's calendar.

A passcode is an easy way to make your meetings more secure and prevent unintended participants from joining your meeting. In addition to the meeting ID, the passcode must be entered before a participant can join a meeting.

Your meeting invitation will include the passcode. Attendees who click the link in the invite to join will not have to enter the passcode. If an attendee enters the meeting ID into their Zoom application or online to join, they will have to locate and type the passcode to join the meeting.

Whether you are using the Zoom plugin for Outlook, the Zoom desktop application, or in the Zoom web portal, you can add a passcode to a new meeting during scheduling. Select Require meeting password and enter the code, which will then appear in the meeting invite.

Hey there! I've been plagued with an issue recently that seems as if my settings keep going back to default. I host meetings in my personal room all day long (coaching and group sessions). I always go into the settings and remove passcodes to make it easier for me and my clients. However, the passcode randomly comes back (and when i go into my settings where I have previously removed the passcode requirement, there is a checkmark next to it again and there's a random passcode in there. All by itself! Almost like it reset somehow and put everything back to default. This happened to me three times today.

Finally, I figured I would just add a passcode because it seemed obvious Zoom wanted one for my personal meeting room and then again it reset and the passcode became some randomly generated one instead of the one I selected.

Same happens to me--and there is no notification that Zoom has changed my meeting passcode. I now have to go in and check before every meeting that Zoom has not "updated" the passcode that I have selected and set as my meeting default. So frustrating! It appears that with every update that Zoom does, the meeting passcodes are reset to something random even if you have personally set a permanent passcode.

This is my problem too. I have back to back appointments, so it makes sense just to let people in and out with the waiting room. This thread is TWO YEARS OLD and no other comment has been made by Zoom here.

I'm scheduling Zoom meetings using the integrated app for all my classes. I have used the same passcode for each meeting in all classes. Will that result in the same URL for every class and every meeting or have I done something wrong? Thank you!

Every Zoom meeting that you schedule will typically have a unique URL. In the URL, there is a number...which is the same as the Zoom Meeting ID number. Even if you have a unique Meeting ID number, I would also recommend that you not use the same passcode (password) every time. I'd recommend making up a new passcode to keep things a little more secure during your meetings. Yes, it might be nice to just use one passcode that's easy to remember, but I would recommend you use a different passcode for each scheduled meeting.
