Hi everyone!

I am currently working on a Neotek Elite console from 1986.

I am struggling to find accurate schematics / service documents to help me complete the repair.

There are quite a few things wrong with the board but this is what I am stuck on currently:
There's a couple of burnt resistors on the 'METER SELECTS' rail/card but unfortunately I can't tell what value they are.

R13 & R14 located by the BUS AMP NE5534 IC's on the METER SELECTS card.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Schematics would be also very much appreciated as there will be many more things to diagnose / fix.

Thank you!
Mikko

Mikko,

Low numbered resistors are almost always 47 ohm, ¼ watt and are in series with +/-18v to each chip. The most common reason for them burning up is someone putting the associated chip in backwards. Also, measure them, they’re often still 47 ohms under the blackened paint. When I replace them, I always kink the leads to stand them off the board, so if they burn again, they don’t damage the circuit-board.

Fantastic. Thank you so much for confirming this!

I thought they would be in that range but didn’t want to make the dangerous assumption.

I will check the orientation of the chips also - thank you for the heads up.

I will stand them up with some spacing to prevent them burning the board in the future.

Much appreciated.

I am glad to have found this group as I’m taking on this project.

Thank you,
Mikko
