Messed up my Elan II TT (Bussing, Fader, Mute)

Hi all. 32 channel Elan TT bought in 2018. Recently set up my studio after having everything in storage. I was running tones into all inputs when I noticed:

1. On Ch 19, Multitrack Assignment buttons 3/4, 7/8, 11/12, 15/16, 19/20, 23/24 (the right column of buttons) were not sending anything out the bus/direct out. I turned the console off and reseated the connector going to the Multi Assign board. Turned on and viola, all busses worked on the channel.

2. However, I noticed then that Ch 21's fader didn't work. I could unmute it and no sound. I could see on the channel VU that signal was coming in. IIRC, solo worked and the monitor section worked. Just the fader was not passing audio anywhere, including the L/R bus.

3. I was turning the console off and on while looking at channels and in my eagerness I accidentally and stupidly pulled Ch 21 fader module with the console on. Dumb. Heard a little "zip" and now not only does Ch 21 fader still not pass signal, but the entire muting system no longer works. "Mute 3" red light on Ch 21 is permanently on. I actually find this encouraging since I am hoping I just fried a logic IC and all the faders are daisy-chained together and to the master fader module.

Any suggestions on what to try (besides making triple sure console is off next time)? I am loathe to screw anything up further, but I also am itching to pull and swap one or more of the 3 socketed ICs on the Ch 21 module since I have few of each (purchased years ago as backup from Mike, who indicated not all versions of those ICs worked well and I should use the same brand as he did...no idea if this is true or not).

No one replied to this but for any future readers, I wanted to note that shotgunning all logic chips with replacements fixed issues 2 and 3. Mute logic is back! So is audio on Channel 21, which probably was muted but didn't appear to be due to initial lack of mute group LED.

I still would love to know what people suggest for initial exploration of funky busses. As is obvious I'm not a proper tech so was wondering if there's a step before signal tracing? One bus of the first pair (1/2) has a lower volume on 2 across all channels. Does not seem to be cabling, even with cable switches the problem stays on Bus 2. I'm wondering if something is loose somewhere because I have noticed a little bus funkiness throughout my testing process. Like I said, the initial impetus for futzing with the insides of this console was a lack of signal out of the right-side column of busses on Channel 19.

If Bus 2 is weak everywhere, the fault is most likely with the bus amp and/or associated cabling. The bus amps are on each of the first 24 modules. So Bus amp-2 is on the module in the Ch-2 position.
