The two chips were functionally equivalent and appear to have been used
interchangeably by Neotek (although not in the same console). I have a
vague recollection of a reason to prefer the National chip (LF347) but I
can't recall what it was at the time. I haven't the time to look at the
data sheets from the time when the desk was built (which I probably
have, somewhere...). I did look at the current data sheets on line and I
would take them with a grain of salt. Why? Because when your desk was
built, National Semiconductor and Texas Instruments were competitors,
and now TI owns National and may have some bias towards their original
part. The revision history on the current LF 347 data sheet says the
following:

LF147, LF347-N

www.ti.com SNOSBH1D– MAY 1999– REVISED

MARCH

2013

REVISION HISTORY Changed layout of National Data Sheet to TI format.


So, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. If you find it does keep you up
at night...I have several hundred TL074's in stock...
