Hi everyone,
I just purchased a Neotek Series III C. 36 channel.
I was wondering if anyone had an approximate weight for it?
I have to move it to its new home this month!
thanks,

whew.
A LOT.

we have the same desk (or as "same" as similarly config'd Neoteks can be).
are you wondering weight fully loaded or without all the modules in it?

without the modules or stand - but with 2 miles of permanently connected cabling - ours must have been - 300 lbs at least... 4 or 5 stout men to move it.

Yup - I had a 36 channel Series IIIc and it was a 4-5 man job.  I definitely recommend unloading the modules (at least the input channel part) if you can.  I think you pretty much have to remove the stand to get it through anything like a standard door.  That stand is unbelievably heavy, too.  I highly recommend getting some caster plates/furniture dollies - they were indispensable (in fact, the previous owner gave me his when I bought the console!).

BTW - I have a bunch of Series IIIc modules (input, routing, etc.) sitting around (since I basically unloaded my old console and jettisoned the frame when I failed to find a buyer for it intact) if you are in need of spares.

Well *I* am in need of a few spares. How much are you looking to get for the input strips?

Dan - hit me off list with what you have... I'm always looking for modules! (i am pete andrews at g mail dot com) (no spaces.. etc etc... you'll figure it out).

and to back up what Dan added...
dollies are a definite. we wrapped ours in that plastic boat wrap stuff to hold all the cabling in place.
here's a thread on the purchase / move of ours:

Boy, I just don't really know the going rate and they aren't showing up on eBay that frequently to give me a baseline.  If I were putting them up on eBay, I'd probably try for $150 but, for this group, I think $120 seems like a decent price.  Because the console has been disassembled, I don't really have any way to fully test them (and I know there have to be a couple of bad ones in the pile) so, if you were to buy one and get a real dud, I'd be happy to exchange it for a different one or a refund.

If anyone were interested in routing modules, I'd pretty much let those go for nothing.  I've also got the cue module, echo modules, oscillator, all that stuff in case there's any demand for that.  Oh, and a bunch of those odd-sized Neotek TT patchbays (I think they're 36 across instead of 48 - I can measure if anyone's interested).

The only things I'm holding onto are 10-12 of the channel strips (for racking and spares) and the power supply (currently earmarked for someone).  I did already sell off most of the faders and fader plates.

Feel free to follow up with me privately at dan...@yahoo.com if there's anything that would come off a Series IIIc that you might need.
