Talk to Norman Druce at Atomic.

My Neotek Elite finally arrived last week.

I've pulled all the channel modules and was about to re-wire the power supply transformer primary to run off 240VAC but I after taking a close look at the supply I'm not exactly filled with confidence. There's several obvious hotspots on the PCB mainly around power diodes and there's also been some mods done which look rather rough and ready.

It's a 32 Channel Elite but is also fitted with 8 stereo modules which effectively makes it a 40 channel console.

I was originally considering a supply recap but I've decided that the power supply is something I don't wish to play Russina Roulette with.

Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement supply for an Elite, ie Acopian, PowerOne etc?

Would prefer a supply with a fair amount of headroom to allow for some chip upgrades etc.

Thanks

Ike Zimbel rebuilded mine and it fix every little problem the console had, it runs incredebly well. No doubt I'd go that route again..

Thanks for the plug, J-F!
Roland, I believe I had a go at that supply a few years ago, but
don't have time to check my records. Before you drop a bunch of $$ on a
new supply, I would just take a closer look to make sure any of the burn
marks are recent, and not old news. If they are old, the supply should
keep going for years and years.
Best,
Ike

Thanks Ike,

Things have got hot at some stage.
I'll need to have a look under the PCB before I rewire the transformer primary for 240VAC

Incidentally do you know what each channel strip draws current wise?
It's a 40 channel desk (32 mono plus 8 stereo) along with some chip upgrades so more current there.

I can see you've worked on some of the modules as your service label is on several of the boards.

I noticed the TLE2074's in the FX returns plus some OPA604's, AD712 etc.
