So, I've recently installed unified remote server on my ubuntu laptop, and everything works perfectly fine until i try to type something, after typing one letter server crashes immediately. Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it? And I would like to point out that I am new to ubuntu.
Follow these steps to install a custom remote. Note that this tutorial is applicable to all operating systems. However some steps will be slightly different depending on which operating system you use.
First you need to make sure you have all the files. If the custom remote is in a zip file, start by opening the zip file and extract the folder to a suitable location, for example on your Desktop. If the custom remote doesn't come with a folder, then just create a new folder on your Desktop and put the files inside of it.
Unified Remote is the result of a hobby project of two Swedish students, Jakob Berglund and Philip Bergqvist, which later turned into a profitable start-up venture. The app was first launched as a free app on Android in 2010, with simple features and support for 13 remote controls for Windows applications. A year later, an improved version was released, as well as a paid (premium) version including more features and remote controls. The latest version was launched in 2014, which included an overhauled user interface and introduced support for iOS, Mac, and Linux.
The application provides many remote controls for various programs. This includes basic mouse and keyboard input and support for media applications, presentation software, and even power functions. The server also provides an open API, which makes it possible for developers to create their own custom remote controls.[11]
There are several different apps on the various app stores that provide similar universal remote control functionality. Other competitors also include official apps for different media applications, which instead provide dedicated remote control functionality for specific applications.
In more recent years, software vendors have begun to target smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs directly, thus making the need for a computer remote control redundant. This is especially apparent within the home entertainment space with products such as Apple TV, AirPlay, and Chromecast.

So what can I do? With the unified App, when the Server is started, but with the smartphone I am NOT in the WLAN, I CAN hibernate or shutdown the server, but when the PC is hibernated or shutten down, then I CAN NOT wake it up, when I am not in the WLAN.
When I am in the WLAN, so I can wake it up with the unified app.
New server version 3.13.0.2505 (52) crashes when you type using the Android system keyboard. The first letter you type works but server immediately crashes before second letter can be typed. Keyboard remote and other remotes work. Tested on EndeavourOS and Debian with same results. reported to dev
Hi, I'm a complete LInux noob and i've just switched from windows because i'm tired of microsoft spying on me. For the most part everything has been fine apart from the fact that i cannot for the life of me make unified remote boot on startup.
I currently have the portable version of the app and it works fine if i double click on it but i don't want to do it everytime i boot my computer. I want it to be done automatically.
I tried adding it to the autostartup tab in settings but it still doesn't work.

The remote control protocol can be configured to have no passwords, a group password, or individual user accounts. If the web page is accessible, the access control is set to no password for exploitation, then reverted. If the web page is not accessible, exploitation will be tried blindly.
