Greetings all,
If you are in the mood for more than 1000 solder connections and about 12 hours of work... build this!

You can pick one up at :
No ICs, not switching power supplies.
Worked right away too.  Comes with nice looking acrylic shell too.

Very nice build!
But I can see a lot of ICs :-)   Just kidding, I know what you mean.
I also like those clocks with lots of TTL logic, I think it's time for me to build one!

I’m confused.

What do you mean by, “No ICs, not switching power supplies.”

I think Martin intended to say no microcontroller...it's mains frequency disciplined and quite rudimentary, but fun to watch and keeps reasonable time over the long haul.

These were originally offered at Koolklox.com, but the designer didn't want to bother with them anymore, so I bought the bits and pieces, redesigned the case a little, changed a few things and sell a kit or two to those interested. HV is generated using a transformer.

Cheers,

Nick

There's this: http://tube-clock.com

The seller produced kits using older and older technology. I think he gave up partway through the design of the relay-based version.
