Hello.

Dis somebody see a Thermometer with IN-18 tubes? It would look very decorative I think.

There are some IN-18 clocks with additional temperature display, for example from PV Elevtronics but I didnt see a stand alone device with IN-18 tubes, only with smaller tubes.

There is a really very nice 2 digit clock with IN-18 by vfdclock (vfdclock.jimdo.com), it has also a temperature display but you must go to the menu, not so easy. I asked the developer if he maybe could change the configuration. It would be unique on the market I think.

I think there are better tubes for a thermometer. There is no symbol tube with same dimensions as IN-18, and a thermometer looks way better when there is a +/- sign - you immidiately know that you're looking at a thermometer, not a clock.
I would suggest using Z566Ms (or other 30mm tube with B13B socket), as they have a symbol counterpart.
Best choice symbolwise would be IN-14, as there are both +/- symbol tube and °C tube with same envelope. The digits are way smaller and don't look as nice as the bigger tubes (inverted 2 instead of 5, too).

Also, IN-18s are pretty expensive. I think that if someone has some of those and wants to make a device to sell, a clock will be easier to sell (and for better money, probably). I think that if you want a thermometer with big tubes, you have to do it yourself.

BTW. I was planning to make an LC-531 + LL-561 thermometer, which would utilize Δ symbol to show difference between outside and inside temperature. What do you think about that idea?

I have already thermometers with smaller tubes, the Temp'n Glow and the 5 tube V2 by Lasermad, both very nice. But because size does matter :-) I want to try the IN-18 one, the chinese developer vfdclock is working on the project to change the 2 digit clock. Of course a plus/- would be nice, it could be realized with small nixie tubes beside the IN-18.

Hello!
I did not see any kit or assembled thermometer with bigger tubes. But in the past few days i have almost finished a weather station (inner and outer temperature, moisture and air pressure). It uses z5660m, z5670m and IN-19A tubes. I think it doesn't look bad. It has no casing yet, it is a part of a bigger project.

What kind of device are you using as the thermal sensor ?

DS18B20 both inner and outer.
It is not my design, I only followed RoboC's plans and built it with a custom tube-board and other small modifications.
Here are the plans: http://robocua.blogspot.hu/2015/06/nfm24l01.html

It is ukrainian but i could understand it enough with google translate. It is reccomended to read all the comments to know every information and read also the previous version of this design too. The drawed circuit doesn't match 100% the PCB, for doing parts list see the PCB (also one electrolit capacitor on the PCB is not in the correct polarity).
