Dear all,
8 years ago in Aug 2012, Zeyuan Yan designed and released his first DC-DC boost converter, NCH6100HV.
It has been so popular in the community, thanks to all supporters including (almost, if not all) everyone here in this group. It got too popular that there have been a few dozens of counterfeit products (with poor quality components) on eBay and AliExpress.
NCH6100HV is measured only at 1.77*1.46*0.7in (45*37*18mm) but is capable of powering TWELVE IN-18 tubes at once! This could have not been achieved without the premium components we picked from TDK, On Semi, SANYO, Bourns, nichicon, Vishay, Sumida etc.
Together with the gold-plated PCB board and the carefully-thought-out layout, the NCH6100HV is capable of providing 55-60mA at 170V without voltage drop!
With 10V-24Vdc as input, the output ranges from 85V to 235V, adjustable by tuning a pot on board.
As a safety measure, a "shutdown" pin is provided so that the output voltage can be completely turned off when you need to, simply by pulling the "shutdown" pin to Vin or High. Both wire terminals and 0.1" pitch pins are included for more versatile applications.
Long story short, 8 years later today, it is time to update the popular NCH6100HV to a new model, NCH6300HV.
With the suggestions from our customers over the years in mind, we made a complete redesign of this converter module, and here is a glimpse of the updated features of this brand new NCH6300HV.
* Input Voltage now starts from 3.7V (Yes to LiIon batteries!) to 15V.
* Output Voltage 100-230V, at 100mA Max!!! (@Vin=12V, Vout=170V)
* Conversion efficiency increases from 83% to whopping 92%
* 0.28"(7mm) shorter at 1.77*1.18*0.7in (45*30*18mm), compared to NCH6100HV at 1.77*1.46*0.7in (45*37*18mm)
We are preparing a Kickstarter Campaign for this coming NCH6300HV.
This will be our first time on KS, so we would like your suggestions and comments. Pledge options, add-ons, target, anything you'd like to input. Your insights are highly appreciated.
The campaign is preliminarily planned to launch in a few weeks, by the end of October. If everything goes well, we will be able to ship these new converters in late Nov to early Dec, just in time to catch Santa's sleigh ;-)
Thank you all for your time and support! Cheers!
Warm regards,
Aiden
