It's very easy to reprogram a gps module...
And it's neater than having another box with power supply, cables, etc

Reprogramming the GPS module is not enough - the electrical and mechanical interface to these clocks (NixiSat etc.) is different to the miniDIN-6 connector used by the GPS puck. Whatever path you take, just reprogramming the puck is not enough - mechanical changes are needed that are probably well beyond the capabilities of most of the owners of these clocks - having done one of these conversions myself, I doubt that the average Joe would stand a chance !

The board I was proposing would not need an extra PSU - it would run off the same supply as that given to the GPS puck - and I doubt that it'd be more that 1cm x 2cm in size (by far the biggest component would be the miniDIN-6 socket, though even that could be an in-line version) - the pcb could be just sealed with heat-shrink and be inline with the cable - in-line miniDIN -> tinyPCB - > BNC for clock.

I replaced my puck with one that has already this ps connector, and it was just a matter of reprogram it. (You need to built a temporary adapter to connect it to your pc)

The model is LS23062. Take a look at http://www.nextboat.it/menu/it/accessori/GPS/locosys/LS2306x_datasheet_v1.0.pdf

I am just trying to save work for others, I have been there, an my nixiechron is working flawlessly since...

Yup - fully appreciate that - it'll be ok for the NixiChron, but not the NixiSat - there are about 300 of those in the field, most of which will be suffering as they are now up to 15 years old and their original Oncore GPS pucks have a tendency to fail (apart from the fact that are complete rubbish by today's standards!).
