Curiously enough, I was _just_ eyeballing these HP QDSP-2536 displays on eBay the other day and thinking what I'd do with them... I have a fetish for mini dot matrix displays lol. Under $20 shipped seemed somewhat reasonable...

Got my displays ;-) Two for $34 shipped from China... I won't pretend to understand how these tariffs work - some items have tariff fees and others like this order did not.
Not sure what to build just yet - either 2 small projects or string them together for a 16 char display. Either way, proof of concept demonstrates that they are pretty easy to drive with a simple controller. They have a fantastic 'nixie orange' color that looks much better in real life ;-)
