Ecaterina Nixie clock project

Dear all

I am Bogdan from Romania

I recently bought a 5 set of B-5018 Nixies and got the idea to build a nixie clock for my baby girl Ecaterina which will include her name .I really have to think on the design but now my goal is to stock all the parts needed.

My primary goal is to have the name spelled with the same sized / style nixie tubes => For letters E,C,A I will use B-5018's , for I will use  B-5092 and for the remaining letters T, R , N I have seen that B-50113 , or B-5035 will do the job .

Now , could you please tell me how can I get some advices from where can I get the missing tubes ? or maybe can I get some information about any other tubes that can display letters T,R, N ?

The Burroughs Nixies with letters very rarely turn up on eBay, but the Polish LL-555, 556, 557 & 558 are somewhat more common so my suggestion is that you look for those on eBay.

I am aware of the polish nixies and have just bought 2 pieces of each  LL- 556, 557 & 558 but the LL-555 which would contain the missing letters is not available at the moment ; and to be honest I think the Burroughs are far more beautiful the the polish ones ..

I also bought 2 pieces of B-6092 , a little bigger than the B-5018's , maybe I will use them somehow

Maybe some of you nice people have some nixies as spare , I am open for any kind of trade .

Dalibor is out of sight for at least one year , he cannot take any new special orders due to new ongoing projects/ orders .

Hello friends

I've managed to spell Ecaterina with nixies

I have  used

5 X B5018  (A, B , C, D, E , F , G, H , j , K)
3XB5035  (L , M , N, P, R, S, T,V, W, X)

1X numeric 6844 for I (1 and possible 0 /o)

I am still looking for some B50113 as the 5018 appear to regular and 5035 are long life and they glow a little different , and a B 50149 for the I to have spelled the entire name with full letter nixies ..

I have also 2 pieces of NL-50318  which display the following letters T, E, /, M, G, S, R, C, H, L

and I know the existence of NL-50317 that display Y, V, K, D, A, M, E, O, C, S but I don't have any

My question/ request  to you :
Can you please help spell , with the available tubes,  a nice sentence ? something like ECATERINA DREAM BIG (well "dream big" is not possible with the actual configuration/ available tubes  ) => do you see any words that could be written ? Or do you know any software that could generate all possible (real) words using the available letters ?

Perhaps the more interesting project is to find a permutation of the
_tubes_ that allows desirable word selections (but of course any other
permutation would make ECATERINA impossible :)

Well I do have 2 pieces of NL-50318  which display T, E , M, G, S, R, C, H, L

I can use them  to exchange the 5018 from position 1 , 2 , 5 or the 5035 from position 4 and 6

If I had 50317  with Y, V, K, D, A, M, E, O, C, S I could exchange any 5018 from position 1 , 2 , 3 ,5 and 9 and extremely  the 1(I) from position 7 with Y

and if I had 1 B50149 I could have I,O,U,Y,Z  instead of only I and O in position 7

I really hope that I could get some more tubes including the ones that I don't have and then I will try to have all the permutations possible to see all possible words

Based on your observation I see now that Toby's query is considering only the words starting with the first letter  from position 1
I think there is a good chance to spell something nice  considering there are some significant numbers of possible combinations

Yes, if you want to blank left hand tubes, then just remove some number
of character classes from the left, e.g. for four letter words in the
