Not sure; I wonder if they're some form of "light pipe" display, with
(usually) filament lamps.

Yes, perhaps, I was taken in by the orange/red glow and thought
"nixies". They are, however, still a 1960's display technology.

The "3" font also looks like no nixie "3" I've seen..... but clearly I've not seen them all.

I have the impression that almost every number 3 has the same flaw. Only one 3 is different. I suspect these are displays styled to look like nixie tubes.
