New to Group Bad dog designs

Welcome!

Very nice clocks - I like the sawn-down chassis that will wall mount - neat.

There's a good smattering of nixie types in the UK - fairly evenly distributed from the Far North to the Far Warmer South!

Don't know - the sun is out in the City of London right now - just wandered over to Spitalfields Antique Market and found a nice Bush DAC90A bakelite radio - nice day really (before the rain starts hammering down again tonight!).

The HTML5 template on your site seems to be giving my browser (Chrome) a bit of grief - very slow to apply some of the CSS...

No idea about HTML5 or CSS, editing a file in notepad is about the limit of my web authoring abilities.. I was much happier in the days of bulletin boards and dial up modems as I understood everything then :)

 

Sorry, didn't realise you were in the UK.. should be 'Flooded' rather than cold in the South at the moment! Hope you're not affected to badly by it all. Would like to convert an old radio into a clock, I think it would be a nice little project, something old and wooden.

Hi Paul,

I have seen a few of your clocks on eBay, I do like the test equip sawn-offs - I have a Venner counter here that would go nicely like this but it is such a nice bit of kit as it is...

Nice to see that there are a few of us in the south of the UK, guess we will all be battering down the hatches today if the news reports are anything to go by - just hope your clocks have battery backups ;-)

Hi Ax,

 

I only tend to chop up the non workers, or the really tatty ones. I've got some very old Solatron stuff that I think was stored in a Barn for 20 years - all cooroded up inside, didn't have the balls to put mains on them!

Just completed a HP counter,that took some doing as they are so well made, not a square cm of plastic! all metal and cast Aluminum..

 

I'm not to far South - Birmingham, and it's horrendous outside at the moment - wouldn't even put the dog out! :) Feel sorry for the guys down in Egham, was there last year and would never have thought it would flood.

Just started hammering down here - the cellar under my workshop now has 4ft of water in it :( SWMBO is out buying bits to get our pumps going again...

Weird thing is that those places around us that normally flood, i.e. flood in most normal winters, have escaped this time for some reason. We live on top of one of the highest hills in the Weald - lifted the concrete slab over the well at the weekend - the water was about 15cm/6in from the top, i.e. the water table at the top of the hill is only 6 inches down... No where left for the rain to go... no wonder the rivers are overflowing...
