Very fancy Michael!

Did you build the acrylic or have outside fabrication?  Curves aren't easy...

I had this fab'd my the same outfit that does all our acrylic work. The guy does great work!  And yes Jeff, he made me aware of the degree of difficulty to do these curved ends. Wasn't cheap! But WTF...

If there were enough interest for at least 10 I will have a batch made. We'll see.

Thanks for the kudos guys

That is really cool, and very nice looking. I don't know if it was your intent or not, but the gently curved sides reminds me of the old Seth Thomas (and others) mantel style clocks of a hundred years or so ago. As a child of long ago I remember seeing quite a few of them. Nice reminder, and very nice work to the craftsman who did this. For those unfamiliar with mantel clocks of yore, here's one on Ebay to look at,   267574599945.  I did notice something about this old Seth Thomas on Ebay, that I do not remember seeing or hearing about here in this group. Has anyone ever added chimes to their Nixie clocks?  I think that would be really cool for someone to do if not already done.

Thanks,  Ira.

Funny, you're the second person that mentioned that. I had actually inherited one of those Seth Thomas mantle clocks from my Grandparents, but lost track of it. So, I dug around in some stuff that had been stashed away for quite a while and lo and behold, I found it! So, maybe ...that was in the back of my mind somewhere and prompted me to design that acrylic that way! Could be? Now I'll have to see if i can get this baby working.IMG_1993.JPG

Nice that you found it. That is a real treasure!!  Quite often a good cleaning, and 'proper lubrication' is all that they need to be running again. It appears from the photo that yours is missing the glass. I had to recently find glass for my old General Radio syhchronometer, and found it at      RONELLCLOCK.COM             for a very reasonable price. Good luck with the Seth Thomas if you decide to restore it.

Ira.
