Long time nixie tube enthusiast, first post! i bought a NixiChron directly from Jeff Thomas almost 20 years ago. It ran problem-free for over 15 years, with just 1 or 2 tube replacements. Then about 1 year ago, lightning struck a tree near my house, and i lost several electrical devices (router, a land line phone, a water cooling dispenser, etc ...), and unfortunately afterwards, my NixiChron stopped powering up all together.
does anyone here have suggestions about what i might try to resurrect the clock? would changing out the electrical wall wart be a start? is there a specific model or specification wall wart to use for this specific clock?
short that, is there a reputable repair business in the US with nixie experience that could take a look?
it would be a shame to lose completely such a treasure.
i have little to no electrical repair experience, although i have repaired various pieces of audio equipement over the years.
Dalibor Farny actually referred to this group for advice. I own his Puri-6 nixie clock as well ... it's a beauty!
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!
