Jon,

Hmmmmm..... It looks real nice, but with the "Uncertainty" meter, I can't help but think of the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy which them makes me think the video was release 2 days earlier. I hope that you didn't spoil the fun for Dalibor.

That's good! I missed that. Would've nice to see it lit up! That or Dalibor needs to fine tune his timing ;)

Hi!

It's real, serious project, not an April 1st joke :-) The uncertainty meter shows the inaccuracy of the input timing signal (measured against internal high accuracy oscillator) plus some tolerances on the parts, propagation delays etc.. The "Uncertainty" word was kind of internal joke when we started on the project, and it eventually made it to the final version.

We used nixie tubes here because 1) the customer had an old (slow) nixie tube display and suggested using nixie tubes (they are used to it) 2) I want to build projects with nixie tubes

Have a great day

Hi Dalibor,

Forgive me for reading to much into it. I guess it's from reading the 'Hardy Boys' as a kid, not to mention the time of year it is. Also, who would need an "Uncertainty Drive" beside mad politicians and NASA?

It would be nice to see it lit up. I can only imagine it is even prettier.

Great Video, I guess some days one does get what they ask for.

Interesting. I never thought about what happens when you turned off the voltage. I always assumed the glow tracked with the current. I was surprised to see how long the electrons kept their extra energy befor releasing it and giving off their photon. Also, a warm tube vs a cold tube.

Good stuff all around!

Your tubes are still some of the prettiest I've ever seen. I can't wait until I go back to Poland with a little extra time to take a side trip to the Czech Republic to check out you factory. Darned COVID19 probably delayed that :(. I'll have to save my pennies to but a tube ;).

Very interesting video!!! And I was concerned about operating a nixie tube at 100 Hz… ridiculous :-)
