Dekatrons on the Moscow Metro...

I was watching a BBC report on the Moscow Metro when I spotted something familiar on the left of the screen when they were interviewing the "station supervisor of the year" !

Its definitely still in use as if you look closely you can see the cathodes that are lit...

I don't recognize directely dekatrons. They may also be something like these nixies/neons  [ #250991516115] or even ordinary eye-tubes like EM34.

The questions I, how well does the metro run ?

While on a recent working trip to Munich I had my teenage daughter fly out to visit. I had told her about the merits of the German trains being on time already and when we went out one evening, to catch the 7:45 S-Bahn train, it came into the platform at 7:44:45, then stopped moving and opened it's doors precisely at 7:45. Amazing.

It's only when I realised there is just one platform and all the S-Bahn trains on different routes divert into this one platform at central station, that my mind boggles.

When we finally become one united world,Germany should run travel and transport
