IV27 tube clock

I found this out on Ebay, Classic IV-27 VFD Tube Clock Colof it looks like something that I can add to a tablelamp, but I know nothing about them.
reliability? how long with it last? I found a site selling just the tube for under $10. 
Any help is welcome!

They're a longer version of the IV-18 Soviet VFD tube. They'll last many years if the IV-18 is anything to go by. I remember when these were <$1 each.... how times have a changed!
