Hi,

does anyone know what is the correct polarity of the Nixies INS-1? I've tried and it works "both ways"...

The lead with the arrow or bump, is the anode (+). The cathode (-) gets eaten away,  so with cold cathode tubes, like gas triggers, the cathode is larger. Cathodes on tubes, like nixies and dekatrons, are restricted in size and shape, due to their specific functions.

There have been numerous posts on these little guys and their  instability and tendency to " wobble" . You may want to burn in the in the bulb of choice for a at least a week before mounting in a creation.
