I've never understood the fascination with red windows over displays or coatings on tubes. I think they look much better with clear or nothing over them.

Cool. I have instruments with red and orange as well. I just like the natural color of the tubes I guess!
Also have an old manual South Bend vertical mill that is nice and tight. A couple years ago got a Bridgeport 2J2 mill with more wear but a DRO cheap and rebuilt the head. I think my brother in AZ will get the SB as I don't need two mills.
