Fun with Pixies

Hi All,

Rainy day, home sick. So I'm playing with Pixie tubes to make me feel
better!

I bought some of the recent batch of B-9012's. I pulled some pins out of
common 12ax7 type of tube sockets to experiment with.

Cute lil tube. And you can have some real fun with them! I have been
experimenting with what I am calling "casino effects". For example the
tube counts in one second intervals until it reaches zero, and then
before switching to 1 it spins around several times quickly then slows
down, lands on 1 and then counts again. With several in a row, you could
make some neat effects. I'm working on wiring another now. Kind of makes
me want to make a slot machine with them. Or a set of liars dice but I
don't have enough tubes. Besides, I probably wouldn't really play with
them that much. So right now I am thinking of maybe a slot machine/clock
combo. Normally a clock but push a button to play slot machine and if
you hit you get a candy. Then at the top of the hour etc you could have
fun with some effects, maybe even down to each minute. Might get
annoying though.
