Hello -
I've gotten some interest in this. I'm really looking any feedback you have. My goal is to make the site as useful for the community as possible.

With that said, if you have a project and would like hosting on TubeClockDB.com, please let me know! I'm generally happy to host your project as long as it is relevant to the community.

Brian

Hi All,

just wanted to make a quick announcement that I have taken over from Brian Stuckey on tubeclockdb.com. Brian just didn't have time any more to keep things up to date, and everything sort of got stuck and an out of date.

I'm working on relaunching the site, and am tending towards making it more of a sort of magazine for Nixie and antique electronics enthusiasts.

So, to the point: If anyone has ideas/wishes for reviews (the original focus of the site) or features (an area I think would be interesting), please let me know either here or directly on the site.

I hope we can get this resource back to being something that is useful and relevant for the community!

Ian

Ian,

Hi. I am interested in this. I think a useful section would be a place
for people to offer ideas for products, with the opportunity for
potential customers to provide feature requests and so forth.

I have several ideas for products I'd like to make, but would like
feedback as to what people are actually looking for.

My specific product ideas are for a variety of Nixie watch modules and
scope clock boards, for people to build into their own cases.

Let me know when you get it set up, and I will write up some product
ideas and we can see how people respond.

Hi David

I think you're right that something like a "Lab" section could go down well. I am just not sure if it is main site or Forum at this point.

Do you have any clear ideas about what would work for you (and others)?

A couple of things to bear in mind:

 - Main site has a higher bar to entry: The posts have to look professional, and that means we need to put additional work into the text and provide some visuals (e.g. pictures, sketches or videos). There is a comments possibility for each story, but it's a bit limited. I'm prepared to put in editorial work, so you could just deliver photos and a sketch of what you want to say and I'd take care of the rest.

 - The forum seems like a good fit, but I don't want it to dilute the discussions on this group: that would be counter productive and is not my aim at all. I'm more interested in giving the community something additional that it does not have at the moment

 - http://www.tubeclockdb.com still has a fair ranking on Google, (but it has dropped a lot through stagnation) and is still the higest ranked "non-aligned" (i.e. not owned by someone just selling their own products) site. I'm working to recover the rankings, but that's a long road.

What are your thoughts? Perhaps we take it off line so we don't bore people here...

Ian
