Hi Jonathan,
Many thanks for your appreciation and comment! Actually the electrical component used in the design is one of the expected highlights, because the case is totally transparent for the exhibition of inner structure of the clock. I adopted intentionally large chips, all through-hole mounting type and soldered by myself, in order to hopefully build a kind of vintage and delicate feeling when people look at it. Maybe more devotion of appearance is applied than technology, by which I would like to show the feature and creativity, because I don't have an excellent skill on electrical engineering as you professionals :-) Meanwhile, I'm designing my second clock with much smaller packages of chips and a compacter circuit design, which might be closer to your favor. Now the sample is under the final test and hopefully it can be released in one month. And I'm really looking forward to your new project!
The tube I used is of type QS30 / SZ-1. Have you really seen the item I posted, because currently there is another person selling the same clock on Ebay, to whom I sold the first released clock. Now he/she would like to sell the clock in much higher price which, more or less, makes me frustrated. Well, maybe it's life. :-(
