I like the controls and display on it too!  Funny how things like that are.  Spec look pretty good for nixie and even dekatron testing:

Got it for a song... I picked up something else I couldn't resist since I love the looks of it... industrial design and lots of knobs.  I've been getting into calibration and voltage references stuff a little:

Ronan X85 calibrator

The test gear thing can also be an addiction I'm finding that ranks right up there with the tubes!  I bid on the experimental IN-18 but someone wanted to pay more than I thought it was worth... maybe someone here?  I got sniped at the last minute and wasn't really paying attention.

Nice find on the power supply; very good for nixie work.

Generally, I crank the voltage way up, to around 300V, and adjust the current until I get proper glow or the datasheet spec.

Just be careful with the current. That supply *WILL* kill you if you aren't careful: 100-200mA of current thru your body is fatal.

I never found a supply online that exactly matched what I needed for bench-testing nixies, so I ended up building my own bench supply a few years ago (I posted on this forum).

It looks like your supply has the most-important features: Separate volt & mA meters, and adjustable current-limit.

Changing the current-adjust to a 10-turn pot would be the only upgrade I can think of; I have that on my supply and it's one of the best and most-used features.

I love those 10 turn pots for sensitive measurements... really good idea.  I love knobs and sliders 4 sure!  Makes me think about the difference between modern digital and classic analog synthesizers.  I had a Sequential Circuits P-600 with real wood ends and lots of knobs... something is just nice about a good pot knob you know?  It's part of the reason I love the MOD-SIX... it's the user interface!  A push click switch knob for the UI... genius!

I saw those NL919 for sale. I too couldn't find any info on them.

Wow! This power supply is neat. I play with vacuum tube amplifiers too and this has almost the specs I would ask if I was to order a custom one for amplifier doodling! Great stuff.

Yeah it was an awesome find for sure and if you guys knew the price I paid you'd freak!  I've seen it sell for almost a G before but I paid less than an order of magnitude less!!! So psyched!

Got the power supply and guess what... it's got 10 turn pots on the voltage and current! It's a beauty too... It's a kinda dark red color on the sides and top with a brushed aluminum handle... Pretty bad @55! I picked up a couple Keithley 230 precision power supplies as well but they only do up to 101V max... still super nice lab power supplies and I'll use them for lesser voltages. They're very accurate and can also do very small voltages. Now not only do I have neon habit but also test and calibration o.O!

What I liked about it is that it can actually drive the dekatrons too. It actually will go a little over the 500V rating.
